this is the part where I ramble
The Details
We're changing how we do the administration division of labor. Under this, each admin will get to have athority over just one area of the group proceedings without having to worry about any other of the parts... which will be nice because it'll clear up any confusion on what you can/can't do.
For instance, AngelicEmpyress is now in charge of managing the featured worlds folder!
So, if you're interested, we have (quite) a few positions open!
and i'll work on cool titles for all of them too...
We need someone who will
handle incoming submissions (two spots open)-->All you'll have to do for this one is go into the messages and accept or decline incoming submissions (depending on if they're submitted to the right folder, ect)
in general though, this isn't very hard.
we just need a few people devoted to it and your work load should be minimal.
organize events and contests (one spot open)-->for this, you'll put together group contests and such and write journals. General updating of the journals might also go in with this one... but if you apply, you can decide whether or not you'd be interested on doing that too.
create and edit group layout (one spot open)-->for this, you'll need experience in the DA's version of HTML whatnot to properly make a cool looking front page... and all that i'd ask of you would be to make it usable~ and not cluttered.
besides that, i want the person in charge of it to be in charge of it.
The big thing about this method is that you don't have to check with anybody to see if you can do something...and you're encouraged to make judgement calls on things that pop up, so you don't have to come to me.
in fact, please don't ask me unless it's really important!
Spots will be created as they're needed... but if you think you'd like to do one of these or you just plain 'ol have too much time on your hands please! send in an application via note!

Gallery Submissions OPEN
Submissions will be closed for a few days -- definitely for the weekend but not longer than one week from the time of posting this blog entry -- while some updates are made to our gallery folder structure and set-up.
Join requests will remain open during this time.
Changes are coming and I hope everyone will like them. Among them are: folders for memes, folders for sketchdumps and rough scribbles, and a place for works relating to your worlds that have been commissioned from other artists.
Now I open the floor to suggestions from all of our lovely members. Voice them in the comments below if there's anything in particular you'd like to see
Worldbuilding Guide: Mapping it Out
I'd like to apologize for getting this out so late. I had planned to update the guide every 2-4 weeks, depending on how hard each section was to write and how much life got in the way. Unfortunately for this bit, I had some technical difficulties added to the mix. I still want to update on the original schedule and will hopefully be able to do so consistently.
Enough of me talking. Let's get on with worldbuilding!

A Few Quick Updates
Hello! A few small updates have been made to the group over the last few weeks and this here is just to officially announce them so people are in the know.
• We now have a rebooted Worldbuilding Guide running with thanks to Lindenare (https://www.deviantart.com/lindenare)! With each instalment we hope members will gain insight into thinking about and tackling various aspects of original world creation. :la:
• We now accept submissions in multiple languages! Thanks to ChimeraDragonfang (https://www.deviantart.com/chimeradragonfang) we can now review submissions in English, French, German, and Norwegian!
(This will be in place from mid-October, since Chim's on holiday until then and she's our only admin
The New Worldbuilding Guide: Introduction + Reboot
Hello, and welcome to the brand new worldbuilding guide! This will serve as a reboot of the earlier, incomplete guide.
I’m hoping to provide an overview of the creation of a world in a way that will spark ideas and help those who need it over rough spots with their own worlds. I will also be building an example world as the guide continues; this will hopefully clarify anything that I don’t communicate well and help you to generate ideas.
Note that this guide is geared toward the creation of worlds more or less like Earth – that is to say, rocky planets that humans would probably be able to survive on without fancy gear. &#

After looking through this, even if it's terribly old, no one ever seemed to get around to volunteering to help with layout, HTML, et cetera. I have a little experience in this regard, but most of all I'm good at writing clearly and with organising things. I'll make sure the folders have clear descriptions and that the group layout is uncluttered and clear for both existing and new members.
